From RomDeluxe's Wild Series Origin range, this is Long Pond TECC, a marque near the top of the estate's ester scale. Long Pond is the historic Wedderburn house in Trelawny, funky and fruit forward, and TECC pushes toward the legal ceiling, distilled from molasses on double retort pot stills and bottled without any cask ageing.
Unaged, the spirit is raw and transparent, all glue and ester, overripe tropical fruit and the green snap of fresh sugar cane, intense and fresh at 60 percent. There is no oak to round it, which is the point, so the natural ester sweetness and solvent funk carry the whole experience. Certified unsweetened, it is one for drinkers who already love high ester Jamaican white rum, brilliant neat for study or as a power mixer in cocktails.
