Consummatus Batch II 2024 is part of Romdeluxe's Limited Batch Series, a blend of rums from multiple distilleries finished in ex-bourbon wood and bottled at 42%. It is very young, given only around sixteen months, and unlike the Danish house's purist Wild Series it is openly sweetened, which shapes its soft, lush character.
The profile is all about ripe tropical fruit: papaya, passion fruit and banana on the nose, then mango, banana and papaya with a nutty edge on the palate. The added sugar rounds everything off into a smooth, juicy, easygoing pour, and honesty matters here, this is a sweet, fruit-driven rum rather than a dry or oak-led one.
