Romdeluxe selected this single cask Chairman's Reserve, distilled in 2000 on Saint Lucia's John Dore pot still and matured for twenty one years. RomDeluxe is known for high impact, full proof single casks, and this old Saint Lucia release fits that reputation with real weight and presence.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at cask strength of 58.8% with no added sugar, it is a dry, wood driven rum built on heavy oak spice, smoke and leather, with sour cherry, red fruit and licorice giving a dark bittersweet edge. The John Dore still lends genuine character, and two decades of tropical ageing concentrate the tannin and intensity. This is a serious, slow sipping rum for experienced palates, best given time and a generous glass.
