Rivière du Mât Millésime 2006

Riviere du Mat Millesime 2006 is a vintage agricole-style rum from Reunion, distilled from fresh-pressed cane juice and bottled by the distillery at a relaxed 43%. It comes from the 2006 harvest and carries enough age to show clear maturity while staying approachable.

The nose opens on baked apple and a fine wood frame, with vanilla, cardamom and a spread of kitchen spices, while floral and mentholated freshness lifts the fruit. The palate stays soft and rounded, fruity and lightly spiced with gentle oak and tobacco on the close. Distilled on a column still in the island manner and aged in oak, it makes an easy after-dinner sipper with decent depth, and represents good value for its age and origin.
