Rhum J.M XO 1970’s

Rhum J.M XO 1970's is an old XO bottling from J.M, the Martinique distillery working since 1845 in the far north of the island, in the shadow of Mont Pelee. This release dates to the 1970s and reflects the house's long-prized aged agricole.

Distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice on a creole column, it is bottled at 50%. As an XO, it carries extended oak ageing in Martinique's tropical climate, which typically builds a grassy core into deeper vanilla, baking spice, cocoa, leather and toasted oak, dry and spice-forward rather than sweet. A vintage bottling like this is as much a piece of the distillery's history as a rum to pour.
