Rhum J.M Jardin Fruité

Rhum J.M sits in the far north of Martinique near Mont Pelee, prized for its terroir, and Jardin Fruite is its fruit forward young agricole. Distilled from fresh pressed sugar cane juice on a creole column run at low strength, in the manner the Martinique AOC requires, it keeps the bright, vegetal cane character that defines the category, and it is bottled unsweetened.

At around two years in ex-bourbon oak the wood is young and present, giving tannin and a fresh sawn timber edge that frames rather than smothers the fruit. The result is a colourful basket of ripe tropical fruit, pineapple, apple and citrus, with the signature J.M oak and a touch of spice, dry and snappy rather than sweet. At 42% it stays easy and approachable, a friendly way to meet real agricole character without high proof. It rewards a Ti Punch or a daiquiri as much as a neat pour, and makes an honest bridge for anyone stepping across from sweeter Spanish style rum into something grassier and drier.
