Rest & Be Thankful Clarendon MMW 1998 is a single cask Jamaican pot still rum distilled at Clarendon in 1998, from the MMW mark, and bottled at 24 years old by Rest & Be Thankful. Clarendon is a workhorse Clarendon-parish distillery whose pot still marks can be very funky, so expect robust tropical fruit, spice and the solvent edge typical of high-ester Jamaica.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at cask strength, 55.3%, this is a long-aged, unsweetened single cask at full proof. Nearly two and a half decades of ageing builds deep oak, dried fruit and spice around the pot still esters, while the high strength keeps the funk loud and the texture oily.
