ReimonenQ Tropical Spiced

ReimonenQ is a family agricole distillery in Sainte-Rose, Guadeloupe, working from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice on a column still. This Tropical Spiced bottling takes its blanc as a base and layers spice and sweetness on top, so it should be read as a flavoured spirit rather than a straight agricole.

The profile is sweet, spicy and fruity, soft and rounded rather than grassy and dry, with the cane base giving a little vegetal lift beneath the added spice. At 25% it is light and gentle, well short of the strength of a traditional agricole blanc, which places it nearer to an easy spiced liqueur than a sipping rum. Honest expectations matter here: this is a sweetened, low-proof island spiced rum made for relaxed sipping or simple mixing, not a dry Ti Punch base.
