A seventeen year Guadeloupe agricole from ReimonenQ, dense and wood driven at 50.4 percent with dark cherry, cassis, menthol, black tea and oak, a rich, syrupy sipper for fans of deep, fruit laden rum.
Description
ReimonenQ Millesime 2007 is a long aged Guadeloupe agricole from the ReimonenQ distillery, bottled at full strength after seventeen years. A cane juice rum of this age and depth is unusual, and this one trades the grassy snap of youth for dark, brooding intensity.
Distilled from fresh pressed cane juice and matured seventeen years in ex bourbon oak, it has built unusual density. The nose is intense with red fruit, sour cherry and a minty lift, the palate dark berries, oak and bitter orange over a barrel core, and the finish stays herbal and woody with blackcurrant and menthol. At 50.4 percent it reads rich, syrupy and deeply oaked while the agricole grass and menthol keep it lively. This is a serious, brooding dark fruit and wood driven pour for drinkers who already love dense, long aged rum and want it turned right up.
