A ReimonenQ blanc from a 2015 distillation on Guadeloupe, an unaged cane-juice agricole built on the heart of the run, fresh and vegetal with sugar cane, citrus and a mineral, metallic edge through a dry finish at 50%.
Description
ReimonenQ is a Guadeloupe agricole distillery founded by two Finnish brothers, and this Coeur de Distillation is drawn from the heart of the run, the cleanest central cut, off a 2015 distillation. Made from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice and bottled unsweetened at 50%, it sits under the Guadeloupe IGP rather than the Martinique AOC.
Distilled on a creole column run low to keep the green congeners, it shows the fresh, vegetal snap that defines a good blanc. The nose is vegetal and mineral with sugar cane and citrus, the palate stays vegetal and fresh with a distinct metallic, dried-currant edge, and the finish runs dry. Some tasters find that mineral, metallic streak cuts across the cane sweetness, and the higher proof brings warmth, but the overall impression is of a clean, characterful Guadeloupe white. Dry and lively, it makes a punchy Ti Punch base where lime tames its mineral bite.
