A dry, peppery Guadeloupe agricole blanc from ReimonenQ, distilled from fresh cane juice and unaged, all sugarcane, lime, clove and earthy spice with real cane snap, a Ti Punch and cocktail staple at a firm 50%.
Description
ReimonenQ is a Guadeloupe distillery working under the island's IGP, and this Coeur de Chauffe is a white agricole made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice rather than molasses, unaged so the raw material speaks plainly. Bottled at a firm 50%, it is squarely a working blanc rather than a contemplative sipper.
The profile is the hallmark of cane juice blanc, dry and peppery with fresh sugarcane, lime and citrus, floral and earthy notes and a warm clove and grassy spice on the palate, finishing earthy and warm with a flicker of fruit. It is more about cane and pepper punch than layered depth or fruit, which is exactly what a good Ti Punch wants. Bottled high in the Guadeloupe blanc tradition, it stands up well in a White and Stormy or a Mojito too. This is a value blanc for cocktails and the canonical agricole serve rather than slow neat sipping.
