Description
Tenuta Rapitalà was rebuilt in 1968 by Hugues Bernard and Gigi Guarrasi after an earthquake, and the estate has since become one of Sicily's leading producers, working native grapes with French technique. Rosammuri Rosato comes from Nerello Mascalese, the red grape of Etna and northern Sicily, grown in the Terre Siciliane on the island's warm, sun-exposed slopes. Vineyards at elevation gain cooling night air that tempers Sicily's heat and keeps acidity in the fruit, so the wine stays fresh and moderate at 12.5%. The grapes are pressed gently and fermented cool to protect colour and primary aromatics, producing a pale, dry rosé that leans on freshness rather than weight. The colour is light pink, the nose shows wild strawberry, cherry and white peach with a floral lift, and the palate is dry and crisp, with red-berry fruit, a citrus-peel cut and a faint saline finish that reflects the coastal island climate. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
