Rammstein Limited Edition #4 – PX Sherry Cask Finish

Rammstein Limited Edition #4 is a Caribbean molasses rum bottled by Denmark's 1423 World Class Spirits, blending pot and column distillate of roughly six years and finishing it in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. At 46% it has the strength to carry the cask without tipping into heat.

The sherry finish dominates the character, dried fruit and sherry on the nose, then a fruity, sherried palate with a little alcoholic lift from the youthful spirit. The pot and column blend gives some backbone beneath the wine cask sweetness. The 1423 house is known for transparent, unsweetened Single Barrel work, though additives here are undeclared and the PX cask alone lends an evidently sweet, fruity slant. It reads as a sherry forward, accessible blend, suited to drinkers who enjoy a wine cask sweetened rum over a dry pot still one.
