Pusser‘s Rum Gunpowder Proof Spiced

Pusser's Rum Gunpowder Proof Spiced is a spiced rum from Pusser's, built to a high gunpowder, or Admiralty, strength of 54.5% on a molasses base aged a minimum of three years. Pusser's trades on British naval heritage, and this expression brings that history together with added spice, a darker and stronger take on the spiced category than most softer, lower proof bottlings.

The nose is dark and rich with dark chocolate, licorice, molasses and sweetness, while the palate turns to cinnamon, vanilla, ginger and a sweet core, finishing spicy with ginger and nutmeg. There is real sweetness and clear flavouring, so it is honestly a spiced rum rather than a dry sipper, but the strength gives it more backbone and balance than many, enough to enjoy straight in a small pour. Notes of ginger cake, nutmeg and toffee carry a malty undertone. A bold, full flavoured spiced rum that also makes a robust base for a strong cocktail.
