Description
Bottled by Precious Liquors as The Cane Rum, this is a 14 year old Jamaican blend distilled in 2008, led by New Yarmouth with support from Worthy Park, Long Pond and Monymusk. New Yarmouth is an emerging high ester pot still darling among independent bottlers, robust and funky, and it clearly sets the tone here.
Matured in ex-bourbon and bottled at 57.1 percent, the blend is intense and estery, with the cookie dough and banana signature of the New Yarmouth share framed by tropical fruit, varnish and a funky rubber edge. The palate is concentrated and the finish runs on banana and astringent dough. Certified unsweetened, it rewards slow sipping and plenty of air time, a layered Jamaican blend for drinkers who already enjoy New Yarmouth and the funkier estates.
