Portofino Dry Gin takes its cue from the terroir of the Italian Riviera, gathering twenty-one hand-picked botanicals that read like a coastal walk: spicy juniper, juicy lemons, fragrant roses, lavender, rosemary, marjoram and sage among them. Distillation in traditional copper stills keeps those fine, fleeting aromas intact, and the bottle nods to the painted houses of its namesake fishing village.
The nose is fresh, all lemon and juniper. The palate is delicate and gently sweet, layered with Mediterranean herbs, lavender, rosemary and marjoram, drawing out to a long finish. Serve it with a light tonic and a sprig of rosemary, letting the herbal side bloom.
