Poli Elisir Sambuca Liquore is a classic Italian sambuca produced by Poli, the historic family distillery in Bassano del Grappa, Veneto, in operation since 1898. It is made to a traditional recipe with star anise and selected herbs at the centre, where careful distillation and a fine balance of ingredients give it an intense, clear anise profile. Bottled at 40%, it sits at full sambuca strength.

The nose is an intense aniseed aroma with fine herbal and spicy notes, while the palate is full bodied, sweet and spicy with a dominant star anise note and harmonious structure, finishing long, aromatic and lightly sweet. For a bar it delivers concentrated anise flavour and sweetness, a way to add liquorice scented aromatics and body to a serve. It works as a classic digestif neat or on ice, and in the Italian tradition is served con la mosca with three coffee beans for happiness, health and prosperity. It also pairs with espresso, alongside or flambéed.
