Description
Père Labat, distilled at the Poisson estate on Marie-Galante, has a strong reputation for small-batch French-island rum, and this Canne Bleue is a single-cane-variety blanc from the 2025 harvest. Made from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice and bottled unaged at 52%, it follows the Marie-Galante custom of higher proof blancs.
Leaving the spirit unaged lets the cane and the single Canne Bleue variety show without interference. The nose is intense and fresh with vivid sugarcane and citrus, while the palate stays fresh and intense with a warm, minty lift, and the finish runs minty and peppery with a floral close. The higher strength amplifies the aromatics and gives the cane real presence. A bright, expressive Marie-Galante blanc that sips well neat and makes a lively, herbaceous base for a Ti Punch.
