Description
Planteray Barbados 2016 is a single cask Bajan rum from West Indies Rum Distillery, bottled by Maison Ferrand and given seven years of age before bottling at 44.9%. Planteray is the renamed Plantation line, and this release carries an Amarone cask influence alongside ex-bourbon maturation, the Italian dried-grape wine lending dark berry and raisin depth. Barbados rum typically shows toffee, ripe banana, vanilla and soft baking spice in a balanced, rounded frame, and the Amarone cask should push that toward richer dried-fruit territory. Maison Ferrand bottlings can carry dosage, so expect a smooth, fruit-forward Bajan rather than a strictly dry one.
