This Very Special Old Rum is a Barbados bottling, vintage 2016 and aged 5 years in ex-bourbon oak before bottling at 44.8%, and it carries added sugar, so it reads softer and rounder than a dry island rum. The pot still base gives a fuller Bajan character, typically toffee, banana, vanilla and warm spice, here smoothed and sweetened in the house Ferrand style.
