Description
This is a single cask Barbados rum from West Indies Rum Distillery, vintage 2011, bottled by Maison Ferrand under the Plantation name and given ten years of age. Maturation finishes in an Oloroso sherry cask, and it is bottled at cask strength, 49%. The Bajan base is the classic balanced island spirit, typically toffee, banana, vanilla and soft spice, while the Oloroso cask adds a layer of dried fruit, walnut and deeper oak. Expect a richer, fuller Barbados pour with a sherried sweetness. As with Maison Ferrand releases, some dosage may be present, so treat it as a rounded sipper rather than a dry one.
