    $44

Pierre Ferrand Triple Sec Dry Curacao is an orange liqueur made by Maison Ferrand in France to a historic 19th century recipe, built on the careful distillation of bitter Curacao oranges with a selection of fine botanicals. It combines the character of a classic triple sec with the deeper, more complex notes of mature curacao, and is bottled at a dry 40%, notably drier than many modern orange liqueurs.

The nose is candied orange, fresh orange peel, fine vanilla and warm spice, the palate full bodied with a harmony of sweet and bitter orange, spice and a gentle woody note, closing long, dry and slightly spicy. Behind the bar that dryness is the selling point: it adds orange flavour and aromatic lift without the cloying sugar of cheaper curacaos, sharpening a drink rather than sweetening it. It is an essential in the Mai Tai, the Margarita and the Sidecar, and a measure lifts an Old Fashioned. A bartender's orange liqueur for classic specs.
