Phenomenology NAS CB (Compass Box)

Phenomenology NAS CB (Compass Box) is a blended malt Scotch from Compass Box, a peated vatting of single malts. Compass Box is known for its inventive blends of Scotch malt whisky. Island and Islay malts give such vattings their smoke.

A blended malt marries single malts from more than one distillery to a house style. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, a vanilla beneath the smoke. The smoky malts are vatted and married to a bold, coastal whole. The maker selects casks for the depth each lends, then rests the blend before bottling. At 46% it is supple and smoky. A coastal peat smoke and a peppery lift run through it, with dried fruit and a soft oak. It is bold and coastal, the peat and pepper to the fore. Smoke, brine and pepper draw out the close. A characterful peated blended malt from Compass Box.
