This Warpigs Smoldering Holes bottling is a Trinidad rum from Phantom Spirits, an independent bottler, given 10 years of age and matured in an ex-Jack Daniels Tennessee whiskey cask before bottling at 45%. Built on Trinidadian molasses, it sits in the living Trinidad tradition of light, fragrant column-style rum rather than the heavy Caroni school. The ex-Jack Daniels cask, charred and sweet, should lend vanilla, toasted oak and a faint smoky edge over the soft caramel and tropical fruit of the base spirit. Expect a rounded, gently smoky sipper at a comfortable strength.
