Description
Pfanner Zirbenblut Likör is an Alpine herbal liqueur from Pfanner and Gutmann Getränke, an Austrian beverage house whose roots in distilling reach back more than 160 years across five generations. It is built around the resinous character of Swiss stone pine, the Zirbe of the Alps, and is bottled at 24% by volume in a 1 litre bottle, sitting in the Alpine tradition of pine and herb liqueurs.
The nose is intense with resinous Swiss stone pine notes lifted by a subtle sweetness, the palate full bodied and harmonious in a balance of sweet and resinous notes that recall Alpine forests, closing long, mild and warming with a pine aftertaste. In a drink it adds piney, woodland aromatics and a gentle sweetness, a distinctive note for winter serves. It shows best served around 12 to 16 degrees so the flavours open fully, and a shot stirred into hot fruit tea makes a warming cold weather cup.
