Description
The Pfanner family have been in the distilling trade for more than 160 years, now into a fifth generation, and their Alpine range carries that long experience into gin. Alpine Dry Gin is a modern reinterpretation of an old and closely guarded family recipe, distilled from a high-quality grain spirit and refined with a carefully chosen set of botanicals that give it depth and a distinctly Alpine complexity.
The nose is fresh, round and harmonious, juniper and citrus joined by orange and a hint of aniseed. The palate is spicy and strong, faintly sweet, with citrus and juniper to the fore, before a long finish. At 44% it has the structure to stand up to a robust tonic, so build a G&T with plenty of ice and an orange slice to lift the citrus and tame the spice.
