A single cask 31 Year Old Enmore carrying the KFM marque, bottled dry at 54.3%, dark and oily with dried fruit, mint, leather, coffee and heavy oak over a long, bitter-edged finish.
Description
Perola bottled this 1991 Enmore under its Bellamy's Reserve label, a single cask of the KFM marque off Diamond's wooden Coffey still, the last of its kind in the world. At thirty-one years and 54.3% it is a powerful, very old expression, bottled unsweetened so the wood and age show in full.
Matured in ex-bourbon, it rewards patience with layers of dark dried fruit, mint, leather, coffee and heavy oak: leather, prune, barrel and roasted notes on the nose, then roasted wood, leather and prune on the palate, finishing long on wood, black tea, spice and a cooling mint edge. Dry, oily and faintly bitter, it pushes the woody, leathery, herbal side of Enmore hard. This is a contemplative old Demerara for experienced drinkers, the kind of bottle whose age is unmistakable in every layer.
