Perelada Jardins Rosat is a pale Empordà rosé made only from free-run juice off the first gentle pressings. That careful selection keeps out bitterness and gives a fresh, floral wine of wild strawberry, lemon and white peach.
Description
Perelada is one of the established estates of the Empordà in northern Catalonia, where the Tramuntana wind blows down from the Pyrenees and keeps the vineyards dry and healthy. This rosé is built around a careful pressing decision: only the free-run juice from the first gentle pressings goes into the blend, the fraction with the least herbaceous and phenolic matter that would otherwise add bitterness. That clean must is fermented cool in stainless steel, a method that locks in primary aromatics and protects the wine from oxidation. The blend draws on the local Ull de Llebre alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Merlot and Syrah, with the windy coastal climate holding acidity through ripening. The colour is bright, pale pink. The nose is fresh and lightly floral, with wild strawberry, lemon and white peach over white flowers. The palate is dry, crisp and clean, with bright citrus acidity, no hard edges and a refreshing finish. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees. It is an easy aperitif and pairs with white fish, shellfish and summer salads.
