Perelada Inspirador Blanc 2025

Perelada is a long-established Catalan winery based in the Emporda, a coastal appellation in the north-east corner of Spain near the French border. Inspirador Blanc blends Garnacha Roja, the pink-skinned form of Grenache, with Macabeo. The Emporda is swept by the Tramuntana, the cold dry north wind, which keeps the vineyards healthy and holds the fruit fresh despite the Mediterranean warmth, while the proximity to the sea moderates temperatures and lends a saline edge. The wine is made young without oak, fermented cool to protect the aromatics and bottled early to keep the fruit primary and the palate crisp. The colour is pale straw. The nose is floral and citrus-led, with white flowers, lemon, white peach and a lift of elderflower and rose from the Garnacha Roja. The palate is light and dry, with green apple acidity and a clean, saline finish that reflects the coastal setting. It is a vegan wine. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
