Peraj Petita Rosat 2024

Celler de Capcanes is a cooperative founded in 1933 in the village of Capcanes, in D.O. Montsant, on the slopes that ring the Priorat in southern Catalonia. Peraj Petita Rosat is a single variety rose from Garnacha Tinta, made kosher under the strict supervision of the Orthodox Union. Montsant's vineyards sit on a mix of clay, limestone and the licorella slate shared with neighbouring Priorat, in a warm Mediterranean climate cooled by altitude and the sea breezes that funnel through the hills. Grenache picked for rose retains its bright red fruit and gentle structure. The wine is vinified young and unoaked, fermented at cool temperatures to keep the primary fruit and floral aromatics intact, with no wood to mask the variety. The colour is a pale, bright pink. The nose shows red berries, red currant and cherry with a citrus peel lift and a touch of white peach. The palate is dry, fresh and light bodied, with crisp acidity, clean Grenache fruit and a clean, gently herbal finish. Serve at 9 to 10 degrees.
