Description
Domaine du Pégau produces this Cuvée Réservée Blanc in AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape, from a blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc. The estate traces to the Feraud family, who first planted vines beside their olive trees, with Laurence Feraud taking a leading role from 1987. The vineyards are farmed with respect for the land under sustainable practice. Châteauneuf-du-Pape sits in the warm southern Rhône, its ground marked by galets and stony, well-drained soils that store daytime heat and drive full ripeness, giving the whites their weight and low natural acidity. Pégau builds richness through the blend, Roussanne and Grenache Blanc for body and stone fruit, Clairette for freshness and Bourboulenc for aromatic lift, keeping texture and structure over overt fruit. The colour is bright straw-gold. The nose opens on white flowers, jasmine and orange blossom, moving into white peach, apricot and beeswax. The palate is broad and rounded, honeyed and gently nutty with a herbal edge, held together by a saline, mineral finish. Serve at 11 to 13 degrees in a full glass, and open thirty minutes ahead.

Additional information
The weight and texture suit richer dishes, from roast chicken and turkey to monkfish, cod and lobster in butter. It also stands up to baked squash and creamy root vegetable gratins.
