Description
This Pasote reposado carries NOM 1584 and was produced at Tequila El Tepozan in San Julian, in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, rather than at the El Pandillo distillery behind the original Pasote releases. It is a highland blue Weber tequila rested in oak past the two month reposado minimum, with the new distillery giving it a profile distinct from earlier bottlings.
The nose carries roasted agave herb notes balanced by coconut, vanilla and sweet oak, the coconut and vanilla pointing to American oak. The palate is lush and rounded, warming and rich from the cask, with sweet light caramel and dried fruit leading into vanilla and toasted nuts. Agave still reads under the wood in the gentler, fruitier highland style, finishing smooth at 40%.
