Partida Creus makes this natural white from the near-forgotten Subirat Parent grape in Baix Penedès, Tarragona. Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori farm small plots by Slow Food principles; young, unoaked and low in alcohol, it is aromatic and fresh with white flowers, green apple and citrus.

Description
Celler Partida Creus is a small natural-wine project run by Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori in Bonastre, in the Baix Penedès of Tarragona. They farm small plots on Slow Food principles, reviving old local traditions and varieties, and this white is a rare varietal of Subirat Parent, a native Catalan grape also known as Malvasia. The wine carries no denomination of origin, sitting outside the regional rules. It is made naturally, with native yeasts, no oak and minimal added sulphur, and stays fresh and light at 11.5 percent alcohol. Young and tank raised, the fruit is left to speak on its own, so the wine keeps the grape's perfume and a lively, direct acidity rather than any winemaking gloss. The Mediterranean climate ripens the fruit while the coastal position keeps the nights cool, holding the aromatics and freshness. The colour is bright, sometimes faintly cloudy from being unfiltered. The nose is floral and fragrant, with white flowers, green apple, citrus peel and white peach over a dried-herb edge. The palate is dry and light, with brisk acidity, a gentle texture and a clean, fresh finish. Serve at 9 to 11 degrees.
