A sweetened Venezuelan ron from Pampero carrying a 1959 vintage and a 19 year old statement, a column-still molasses rum from ex-bourbon wood at 40%, soft and dessert-leaning in the classic Venezuelan style.
Description
Pampero Anejo Ron Extra is a Venezuelan ron from Licorero del Centro, here in an old expression tied to a 1959 vintage and carrying a 19 year old statement, column distilled from molasses and matured in ex-bourbon wood at 40%. Pampero is a long-standing name in Venezuelan rum, working in the smooth, dessert-leaning DOC tradition.
This bottling is openly sweetened, so it is best approached for what it is: a soft, rounded, gently sweet sipper rather than a dry, structured rum. Expect the vanilla, caramel and dried-fruit character typical of aged Venezuelan ron, carried on a mellow body with the sweetness adding to its after-dinner appeal. A classic example of the smooth Venezuelan house style.
