Description
Padre Azul is a Blue Weber tequila from the Tres Mujeres distillery in the Amatitan valley, the lowland zone of Jalisco, and this Artist Edition 2025 is a joven, an unofficial class made by marrying a blanco with a portion of oak aged anejo. The 2025 release pairs that liquid with a label from the painter Indira Monica Castellon, whose colour and energy nod to Mexico. It is bottled at 40% from 100% agave.
The blanco half keeps the spirit fresh and agave forward while the anejo component lends depth and a soft amber complexity. Expect cooked agave and light herbal and mineral notes on the nose, then gentle vanilla, chocolate and caramel on the palate carried by the natural sweetness of slowly cooked agave. The finish is long and creamy, balancing the brightness of the young spirit against the rounder weight of the wood.
