Description
Padre Azul Joven Artist Edition 2024 is a limited release of 3,000 bottles from Tequila Tres Mujeres in the Amatitán valley, the lowland Valles zone of Jalisco, with the bottle designed by Mexican artist Benji Rodriguez. It is a joven, a category created for tequila that does not fit the usual classes, here a blend of Blanco and Añejo Blue Weber tequila. The blanco component keeps it fresh while the añejo lends colour and depth, giving the light gold shimmer in the glass.
The brand was built by Austrian founder Hans Peter Eder in partnership with master distillers from Jalisco, and every Padre Azul is made from 100% blue agave. Fermentation runs on natural airborne yeast. The blend shows cooked agave, herbal notes and a subtle minerality with a hint of wood on the nose, then delicate vanilla, chocolate and caramel on the palate. Bottled at 40% behind the brand's heavy skull stopper and hand laced leather wrap.
