Description
The 2023 Artist Edition añejo from Padre Azul, a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila limited to 3000 bottles and bearing the work of distiller Erika Sangeado. The release is finished with cover art by street artist Luis Morales de la Cruz, tying the bottle to the brand's colourful, design-led editions.
This añejo is double matured in two hand-selected oak casks. It rests six months in an ex-bourbon whiskey oak barrel, then moves to a second oak cask for a further ten months, building its woody backbone. The nose shows cooked agave, wood, chocolate and dried fruit with a touch of honey, vanilla and roasted nuts, while the palate carries that woody note alongside soft chocolate, dried fruit and honey with good persistence. Bottled at 40%, a soft, sweet-leaning añejo in the lowland house style.
