    Ornabrak Single Malt Gin

    700 ml / 43%
    London Dry

    $55

A gin built on Irish malted barley, so the spirit itself carries a soft, biscuity warmth beneath the botanicals. Douglas fir, angelica, lemon verbena and lemon peel give it a green, floral freshness, with juniper holding firm. Distilled five times in Cork, it finishes long, piney and bright.

Ornabrak is a single malt gin, an unusual thing, made by Origin Spirits in Ireland from 100% Irish malted barley. The grain is distilled four times in copper pot stills, then a fifth distillation marries the spirit with just five carefully chosen botanicals. The name comes from the Gaelic "Eorna Braiche", meaning malted barley, and that barley base gives the gin a gentle, rounded body the botanicals build upon.

Beyond classic juniper, the bill runs to Douglas fir needles, angelica, lemon verbena leaves and lemon peel, lending an exceptional floral freshness. The nose is fresh juniper with a hint of citrus and bloom; the palate is complex and balanced, juniper and citrus laced with the herbal spice of angelica and the brightness of lemon verbena. It finishes long, with subtle pine and lemon lingering. Pour it into a G&T with a sprig of rosemary and a strip of lemon peel.
