Opal Nera Sambuca with Black Spices Liqueur is an Italian sambuca from Opal Spirits, made on a high proof neutral base and flavoured with aniseed and a selection of dark spices. Sambuca is the classic Italian anise liqueur, and this bottling reads it in a spicier register, with natural extracts precisely blended for a clear, intense profile. Wood maturation is deliberately avoided so the pure aniseed and spice character stays unmasked, and it is bottled at 40% by volume in a 700 ml bottle.
The nose is intense aniseed shot through with dark spices and a fine sweetness, the palate spicy and balanced with a sweet undertone and a refined spice structure, closing warm, harmonious and long. In a drink it brings concentrated anise and a layered spice backbone, useful where a serve calls for liquorice depth and aromatic lift. It suits an after dinner pour neat, traditionally slightly chilled or at room temperature, and earns its place in cocktails where aniseed and spice are used with intent.
