A sweet 23 year solera from Oliver & Oliver at 40%, Ron Quorhum 23 pours creamy caramel, vanilla, toffee and milk chocolate over gentle oak and nuts, an easy dessert style Dominican sipper and a relaxed cigar partner.

Description
Ron Quorhum 23 is an Oliver & Oliver release from the Dominican Republic, the blending house known for soft Spanish-style labels. Distilled from molasses on a pot still and assembled as a solera with a port cask influence, its number marks the oldest component in the marriage rather than a flat age, in the fractional-blending tradition borrowed from sherry, so it reads as a young rum carrying a trace of something older.
The nose carries vanilla, caramel, wood and a sweet note, the palate brings sweetness, spice, vanilla and a woody edge, and the finish stays sweet with toffee and a nutty turn. It drinks creamy and dessert leaning, with milk chocolate sweetness over gentle oak and nuts, the sweetness clearly part of the design. The honest framing is an easy, sweet entry sipper or a relaxed cigar companion rather than a dry, analytical pour, comfortable and approachable for those who enjoy soft, sugar forward rons.
