Oliver & Oliver Puntacana Club Tesoro

Oliver & Oliver Puntacana Club Tesoro is a 15 Year Old Dominican Republic ron from Oliver & Oliver, the well known Dominican blender and sourcer behind labels such as Cubaney and Opthimus. Distilled on column stills and matured in ex-bourbon oak, it sits at a gentle 38% and is built for relaxed, undemanding drinking.

The Dominican house style runs to amber, vanilla and caramelised sweetness, and this bottling is on the softer, more restrained end of Oliver's range: vanilla, woody notes, barrel and a sweet edge on the nose, then barrel, vanilla, caramel and spice on the palate, closing on vanilla, malt and a warm, thin finish. It is gently sweet rather than heavily dosed, with honey and soft oak rounding it out and a light whisky character on the close. A no thinking needed pour, particularly for drinkers coming from sweeter profiles, though those after intensity or grip will find it slight.
