Old St. Croix A.h. Riise Elixir Orange Grove Liqueur

Old St. Croix Elixir Orange Grove is a Caribbean orange liqueur from A.H. Riise, rooted in the history of the island of St. Croix and inspired by the historic Orange Grove area, where orange groves and sugar cane once grew side by side under the tropical sun. Made to local recipes, it combines sun ripened orange peel and fine citrus essences with a subtle line of spices into a round, balanced liqueur, bottled at a full 40% that puts it on a par with a classic triple sec for strength.

The nose is dried orange and apricot lifted by fresh green mint, the palate spiced fruit confectionery with deep orange and mandarin, gently roasted brown sugar and a hint of toasted wood, finishing on green mint, dried orange and a tropical fruit edge. Behind the bar that strength and spiced depth make it more than a plain orange liqueur, adding fruity orange, a spice complexity and a bittersweet lift to a Margarita, a Cosmopolitan or a Mai Tai. Pour it neat or over ice to show its soft, spiced character, or use it where an orange liqueur with more depth is wanted.
