Old Captain Brown Rum

Old Captain Brown Rum is a no age statement Barbados bottling presented at a soft 37.5%, below the usual full strength of a sipping rum. The record carries little production detail beyond its island origin. Barbados rum in the house style typically rests on the island's pot and column blend, giving toffee, brown sugar, ripe banana and vanilla over a smooth, light to medium body and gentle oak, fuller and rounder than Cuban styles and far less funky than Jamaican ones. At this reduced strength it reads as an easy, accessible everyday pour rather than a high proof single cask, suited to relaxed sipping or mixing.
