Okayama Single Malt

The Okayama Single Malt is the flagship whisky expression of Miyashita Sake Brewery, a long-established sake producer based in Okayama prefecture on the Seto Inland Sea coast of Honshu. This no age statement release was bottled in 2016 and made its way to the Polish market, representing an early chapter in the distillery's whisky output.

The spirit was matured in brandy barrels, a crossover cask choice that reflects the brewery's broader fermented-spirit heritage. Brandy wood typically imparts dried stone fruit, light grape character and a mild spice warmth, sitting comfortably over the gentle cereal base that sake-house fermentation tends to produce. At 40%, the result is light-bodied and accessible, with the brandy cask influence giving a soft sweetness and a clean, fruit-forward finish in keeping with the house character.
