Description
Ogham takes its name from the earliest Irish script, and the label bottles whiskey from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, Co. Louth. This release is a 7 Years Old single malt finished in Madeira casks, bottled in 2023 at its natural cask strength of 47.23% in 500ml bottles for the European market.
Ex-Bourbon maturation built a base of honey, vanilla and baked orchard fruit before the Madeira finish worked in raisin, burnt caramel and a tangy, faintly saline cut that keeps the sweetness honest. The modest natural strength makes it an unusually sippable cask strength malt, full flavoured without the sting.
