Odevie SAS Island Signature Anacaona

Island Signature Anacaona is a column-still rum bottled by Odevie, presented here in a light, four-year style. Molasses-based and matured in ex-bourbon casks, it sits at the fresh, delicate end of the spectrum rather than the rich, sweet one, with a pale colour and an airy, floral character.

The nose shows sweet sugarcane, honey and floral notes, the palate runs pear, honey and a light sweetness edged with bitterness, and the finish stays sharp, faintly oily and lightly alcoholic. It is a clean, easy rum, slightly sweet but not heavy, with a floral lift that keeps it from turning grassy. At 40% it makes a fresh aperitif-style pour or a base for light cocktails, well suited to anyone after something soft and approachable rather than depth, funk or oak-driven weight.
