O Luar do Sil Godello 2025

O Luar do Sil Godello is made by Pago de los Capellanes in Seadur, in the D.O. Valdeorras in Galicia. The Rodero Villa family, better known for their Ribera del Duero reds, founded this white-only winery in 2014 to work Godello to their own philosophy, and the region gives them fresh, expressive wines with the length to age. Valdeorras sits inland along the Sil valley on slate and granite soils that drain well and reflect a firm mineral line, while cool nights preserve the grape's aromatics and acidity. The wine is made in stainless steel to keep the fruit clean and precise and to hold the varietal expression. It shows a pale colour with green glints and a nose of green apple and mango with white peach and pear behind. The palate is clear and vibrant, the acidity firm and the fruit carried through a clean, lively finish with a mineral edge. Serve well chilled at 9 to 11 degrees in a standard white glass. A good aperitif and a match for shellfish, white fish and lighter poultry dishes.
