Description
Nuestra Soledad is the Casa Cortés range of single maker, single village Espadín mezcals from across Oaxaca. This joven is made entirely from Espadín grown on steep, hot mountain slopes around San Luis del Río in the Valles Centrales, where the heat brings the agave to early maturity.
Production follows the artesanal method that defines the line: the agave is pit roasted over mesquite and oak for its roasted, lightly smoky character, fermented in the open air on wild yeast, then twice distilled in copper alembics and bottled unaged at 47.3%. The result opens with zesty grapefruit and citrus over wet stone, then turns rich and creamy on the palate with spiced butterscotch and herbs, closing long and complex.
