Description
Nork Apfel-Zimt Likor Edition Dachboden comes from NORK, founded in 2016 by siblings Ann-Katrin and Johann Dallmeyer to bring Korn, German grain spirit, into a modern context. This liqueur builds on NORK Korn met with apple juice from Klimaapfel, a project whose motto is battered but not knocked out, putting fruit that would otherwise be wasted to use. The grain base and the rescued apple juice give it both its character and its story. It is bottled at 20%.
The nose is fresh apples and cinnamon, the palate fresh apple juice, cinnamon and lime, finishing long on the palate. Behind the bar it brings bright apple fruit, warm cinnamon spice and a citrus lift, which makes it a natural in an autumn highball, an apple sour or a spiced long drink lengthened with soda or sparkling wine. Pour it over ice to keep the fruit fresh, or use a measure to add apple and cinnamon to a stirred cocktail. A seasonal apple note for a back bar that wants fruit with a spice edge.
