Nordes Atlantic Galician Gin

Nordés comes from Galicia, Spain's rain-washed Atlantic north-west, and wears its origin proudly. Most strikingly, its base is not grain but a spirit made from the indigenous Albariño grape, the white variety prized locally for freshness and fruit. Around the juniper sit eleven botanicals, many gathered from the region: lemon verbena, hibiscus, sage, eucalyptus, mint and sea fennel among them, macerated and distilled slowly to keep their fine, herbal character intact.

The nose is fresh and floral, intense citrus lifted by mint and a light sea breeze. The palate is mild and soft, white grape fruitiness meeting green herbs and a maritime nuance, before a long, balanced finish with a floral lightness. Made for a fine gin and tonic with a restrained tonic and a frozen white grape or a twist of lemon zest.
